Welcome to Grace Independent Baptist Church! We want it to be easy for you to come to church. We want you to experience a great time in worship and meet friendly people who will welcome you into the family of Grace. We know that first-time visits to any church raise many questions and concerns. So please look at some Frequently Asked Questions that will hopefully give you a better idea of what to expect when you visit Grace during any one of our weekly services.
"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (1 John 5:12 ) According to the Bible, there are only two types of people in the world: those who have the Son of God, and those who do not. There is no in-between, no gray area at all. Either you have the Son, and have eternal life, or else you do not have the Son, and therefore do not have eternal life.
In our adult Sunday School class, Dr. McDaris recently taught an excellent series on the Christian's thought life. We can't help thinking; we just need to think about the right things. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and hopefully some of the following thoughts will get you thinking, too: • If all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags in the sight of a pure and holy God, then how must all our wickednesses appear? • The only thing I can do without Jesus is sin.
According to the holy scriptures, there are three things we simply can't do without. Those things are the power of Jesus, faith in Jesus, and the blood of Jesus.
Without the POWER of Jesus, we can't SERVE God. Jesus said very plainly, in John 15:5 , "Without me ye can do nothing." Without the power of Jesus operating in our lives, we are as useless as a car without gas or a flashlight without batteries. Paul said, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13 ), but he could do those things only through Christ.
