Bro. Paul Perkins is the second son of four boys born to Pastor Don and Sherry Perkins.  Pastor Don Perkins is a church planter who has Pastored faithfully for the last 40 years.

Paul and Monessa Jene' were married  in May of 1990 right here at Grace Independent Baptist Church (GIBC) in Ocean Springs Mississippi.  The Lord has blessed them with 4 children:  Rebecca, Elisa, Timothy and Ethan.  Becky, Elisa and Ethan were born in the Philippines; Timothy was born here in Ocean Springs.  Ordained at GIBC in May of 1994,  Bro. Paul served for 12 years as a Youth Pastor (5 years GIBC), a Music Leader for 11 years (5 years at GIBC)  and a Bus Captain and driver for 5 years at GIBC as well. 

Paul and Monessa were called to the Mission Field in March of 1995 during the GIBC missions conference.  Serving as  Missionaries with the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry as the Philippine Director for 10 of the 12 years in the Philippines.  During the time spent in the Philippines, the Perkins were able to help another missionary with a church plant in Bacolod City, Negros Island and  also planted a church inside the Maximum Compound of New Bilibid Prison, Metro Manila, which is a 30,000 man institution.  During this time the Lord allowed Bro. Paul to travel to all the major islands of the Philippines, preaching revivals, missions conferences, family conferences, as well as conducting evangelistic crusades in many different high schools, colleges and universities.  The Lord blessed the 10 years there with many souls coming to know Christ as Saviour.  The Lord has raised up folks to take care of and run the ministry they are leaving in the Philippines.

On 25 July 2007, the Pulpit Committee of GIBC believed God was calling Bro. Paul to be the Pastor of GIBC.  On 5 August 2007 after the evening service, the Members of Grace Independent Baptist voted Bro. Paul in as the Pastor of this Church Family.
